| Ekolojia is Swahili for Ecology. Our mission is to make a public site for ecology and ecology projects, alternative energy and transportation, social networking for anyone interested in the continued well being of our planet and things you can do today to help save the planet. |
 |
Check out our "Projects" listing. Ekolojia "Projects" is a simple way to provide people in need with resources that our public services often lack. Here, anyone can submit project proposals. These ideas become reality when concerned individuals, whom we call Citizen Philanthropists, choose projects to fund.
Anyone can search such proposals by areas of interest, learn about their needs, and choose to fund the project(s) they find most compelling. In completing a project, donors receive a feedback package of photos and thank-you notes, and an ecology impact letter. |
Ekolojia.org performs a good deal of work to ensure the integrity of its philanthropic marketplace. Here's how it works:
- Groups or individuals can sign up and create an ecology or conservation project proposals.
- This consists of writing a one page essay and listing the exact resource(s) needed.
- Our volunteers screen each project proposal before posting to the website.
- Volunteers verify that the people and project meet our eligibility requirements, emailing follow-up questions if anything is unclear.
- Concerned individuals fund the projects of their choice—in whole or in part—and are emailed immediate email acknowledgments from Ekolojia.org
- Ekolojia.org releases the funds for the project once the funding goals have been reached
|
| Once a donation has been committed, a meter appears to indicate how much of the target funds have thus far been collected. Each time you check on your project, you’ll see the progress that's been made on the funding and how much further there is to go still. To help people with limited resources we also offer web page space for them to post project information for free. |
